And now Jack Smith just issued Donald Trump one threat that will have you seeing red.
Jack Smith’s latest court filing sought to muzzle Trump and block him from disclosing the evidence the government collected that must be turned over to Trump’s lawyers as part of the discovery process.
“The Discovery Materials, along with any information derived therefrom, shall not be disclosed to the public or the news media, or disseminated on any news or social media platform, without prior notice to and consent of the United States or approval of the Court,” the Justice Department wrote in the motion to silence Trump.
Mark Levin – who worked in the Justice Department during the Reagan administration – slammed the Soviet-style show trial of Smith’s prosecution.
In a post on Twitter, Levin noted that the government usually settled classified document cases out of court to prevent the evidence from going public.
But in this case, Smith and the Biden Justice Department want to try Trump on the basis of evidence they won’t make public, adding that Judge Aileen Cannon (whom Trump appointed in 2019) is under pressure to side with the Biden DOJ and Smith or face the corporate media hit squad smearing her name and ruining her life.
Levin wrote:
Now, the thug Jack Smith is asking the judge to silence Trump about the core of the appalling case he has brought against him! Ironically, Smith has disclosed more about the nature of the “evidence in classified documents” than Trump ever has. When I worked at DOJ, cases involving classified information were rarely brought, and usually settled, because of DOJ’s desire to keep the so-called “evidence” from public disclosure. But here, the thug prosecutor and corrupt attorney general want to bring the public case, claim it is all about classified documents, the silence the accused. Stalin would be proud.
Now, the pressure will be on the judge to go along with all of this, unless she wants to be ridiculed by the sickeningly corrupt Democrat Party press and their cherry-picked hack “experts.”
Jack Smith has a history of unconstitutional prosecutions of Republicans.
The Supreme Court unanimously voted 8-0 to toss out Smith’s conviction of former Virginia Republican Governor Bob McDonnell on corruption charges over McDonnell and his wife accepting a gift from a neighbor.
Chief Justice John Roberts wrote that Smith’s interpretation of an official act by a politician was so broad that it would encompass every routine action undertaken by an elected official.
And now it looks like Smith is reaching back into his bag of tricks to pull a power-play to further his scheme to jail Donald Trump.
