Hunter Biden’s sweetheart plea deal enraged millions of Americans.

The double standard on display was obvious.

And Donald Trump dropped the hammer on Hunter Biden with a brutal reality check.

Hunter Biden will not spend one day in prison after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor tax evasion charges and entering a pretrial diversion program after lying on a federal firearms background check form.

The fact that Joe Biden’s son escaped a prison sentence while Joe Biden arrested his chief political rival and threatened him with 400 years in prison was not lost on anyone.

And it was certainly not lost on Donald Trump, the target of the longest political witch hunt in American history.

Trump blasted the Department of Justice for acting like an arm of the Biden re-election campaign and letting Hunter Biden plead guilty on minor crimes so as to sweep larger scandals about allegations of the Biden family’s foreign influence peddling operation and Joe Biden allegedly accepting a $5 million bribe from a Ukrainian energy company executive under the rug.

“They gave him a traffic ticket and cleared everything up,” Trump told Fox News Digital. “It is a disgrace to the system, it is a disgrace to America, it is a very unfair situation, it is prosecutorial misconduct, and it is election interference — all wrapped up into one.”

Trump explained that the Biden Justice Department bending over backwards to protect Hunter Biden validated the concerns he and tens of millions of Americans share about a corrupt and weaponized justice system working on behalf of the Democrat Party.

“This is a corrupt justice system and a corrupt FBI,” Trump began before adding that if one of his children faced the same charges as Hunter Biden they would face “hundreds of years” in prison.

Even Republicans who have not endorsed Donald Trump’s presidential campaign agreed.

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton mocked the suspicious timing of how the Biden Justice Department suddenly rediscovered the principle of prosecutorial discretion in letting Hunter Biden off the hook.

This issue is not going away any time soon.

Even establishment Republicans like Mike Pence and Tim Scott pledged to fire FBI Director Christopher Wray and clean house at the Justice Department if they win the presidency.

Ending the weaponization of the government is now table stakes in a Republican primary.

And the general election will serve as a referendum on how Biden and the Democrats leveraged their control over the Justice Department to protect friends and allies and prosecute political opponents.
