Barack Obama and his Deep State allies thought they had run out the clock.
But they were not counting on Trey Gowdy.
Trey Gowdy uncovered one truth that Barack Obama wanted to stay hidden.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
When the Department of Justice filed a motion in court to dismiss the criminal charges against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn for lying to the FBI, the American people finally got a look at the smoking gun in the Obamagate scandal.
The FBI agents handling the case wanted to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn and Russia after it became clear the whole thing was a baseless conspiracy theory.
Anti-Trump Deep State conspirators Peter Strzok and JamesComey kept the case alive.
When the FBI went to interview Flynn at the White House just days after the Trump administration took power, the FBI set out with one goal of trapping Flynn in a lie and getting him fired or prosecuted.
FBI Director Christopher Wray dragged his feet on any effort to hold crooked FBI agents accountable but the pressure became too much for even Wray to bear.
The FBI announced an after-action review to examine the FBI’s conduct in the Flynn case.
In a statement to CBS News, the FBI tried to explain the purpose of the review.
“The after-action review will have a two-fold purpose: (1) evaluate the relevant facts related to the FBI’s role in the Flynn investigation and determine whether any current employees engaged in misconduct, and (2) evaluate any FBI policies, procedures, or controls implicated by the Flynn investigation and identify any improvements that might be warranted,” the FBI statement read.
Trey Gowdy was not impressed with the FBI’s halfhearted gesture to try and rebuild its tattered reputation.
Appearing on Fox News Channel, Gowdy ripped the FBI by asking one straightforward question.
“What the hell have they been doing?” Gowdy asked the Fox News audience.
Gowdy wondered why it took four years for the FBI to admit they railroaded Flynn and to take action to prevent rogue FBI leaders and agents from targeting their political opponents with made up criminal investigations.
“It’s been four years …” Gowdy continued. “I mean, this happened in 2016 and 2017. So, I mean, it’s not like he [Wray] just learned of the misconduct. We just learned of it, or some of your viewers just learned of it. He’s known about it since the day he became the FBI director.”
Frustration on the right has been building with Wray for months.
After Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz found 17 significant errors and omissions in FBI applications for FISA warrants to spy on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page, Wray took no action.
Horowitz’s report made it clear that the FBI used fabricated stories from the Christopher Steele dossier to spy on the Trump campaign.
Wray appears to be using this after-action review to appease his critics.
But this is a case of way too little and far too late.
American Patriot Daily will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
