Trey Gowdy Blasts Manhattan DA’s Criminal Case Against Trump As Weak

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg finally indicted Donald Trump.

But the George Soros-funded Bragg got some bad news.

Trey Gowdy dropped the hammer on Alvin Bragg with one brutal truth.

As Black Eye Politics reports:

Donald Trump set off a political earthquake by saying the Soros-funded district attorney of Manhattan planned to arrest him on bogus charges.

But the Manhattan district attorney got hit with a brutal reality check.

And now Trey Gowdy destroyed the Democrats’ plan to arrest Trump with this simple truth.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg rejected a request by three Republican House committee chairmen for documents and testimony about his crusade to indict Donald Trump on bogus charges of covering up a nonexistent federal campaign finance violation when Michael Cohen paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 back in 2016.

In a letter responding to the chairmen’s request Bragg extended a middle finger to the GOP majority with a politely worded response falsely claiming that Congress had no legislative purpose in investigating his office.

“[I]t is clear that Congress cannot have any legitimate legislative task relating to the oversight of local prosecutors enforcing state law,” Bragg stated. The Manhattan D.A. continued on writing that “Congress is not the appropriate branch to review pending criminal matters.”

Fox News host Dana Perino asked Gowdy — who once chaired the Oversight Committee and the Benghazi Select Committee — about how this standoff would play out.

“And House Republicans, where you used to be, they have decided to try to investigate, brag on this, as well as he won’t turn over documents. We’ll see if he ends up having to testify. How do you see this?” Perino asked.

Gowdy explained that one of the few things both Republicans and Democrats could agree on in this highly polarized era is that the case Bragg planned to bring against Trump is a joke.

“This would be one of those rare instances where even people on the left ought to be able to say, this is the wrong fact pattern, this is the wrong jurisdiction, and it’s being brought by the wrong person. President Trump may have legal exposure and other cases. I don’t know. He may, but this is the weakest case factually,” Gowdy stated.

Multiple liberal commentators agreed with Gowdy’s analysis.

CNN’s Van Jones claimed a payoff over allegations about an affair from 2006 is not where Democrat prosecutors should file the first charges against a former president in American history.

“You wouldn’t start with an 8-year-old porn star payoff. This is proof, if nothing else, that the progressives are not very well organized. This is not the one you would start with,” Jones declared.

Liberal comedian Bill Maher said on his “Real Time” show that Bragg’s charges are a “colossal mistake” and claimed if Bragg indicted Trump on frivolous charges it would inject “rocket fuel” into his 2024 campaign.

“First of all, it’s not going to work. It’s going to be rocket fuel for his 2024 campaign,” Maher began. “And it’s just going to look to MAGA nation like, oh, you know, you tried with Mueller, you tried with Ukraine, you tried with January six. Now we go to the porn star. Really? You’re down to that?”

But Democrats lusted after indicting Trump for the last six years.

And Alvin Bragg does not appear to be listening to reason.
