New emails from Hunter Biden have uncovered another serious scandal from new emails.
Business insider reported that the 2015 emails revealed that Hunter Biden offered to use his influence to help unfreeze Libya’s assets which the Obama administration locked down for $2 million.
“Insider obtained emails indicating that Hunter Biden asked for a $2 million annual retainer plus ‘success fees’ to help unfreeze Libyan assets during the Obama administration,” the outlet noted Thursday. “The communications offer ‘a window into the mechanics of Beltway influence-peddling and the stock that was put in Biden’s political connections.’”
The emails revealed more clearly how Hunter Biden carried out his business dealings.
“The Obama administration froze up to $15 billion in assets during Muammar Gaddafi’s rule,” Business Insider noted. “In 2015, long after Gaddafi’s ouster and death, two Democratic donors with business in the Persian Gulf pitched Hunter Biden about joining their cause.”
Hunter Biden’s political influence is still a present concern as the younger Biden is currently selling abstract paintings and collages that are expected to fetch upwards of $1 million each.
He has no formal artistic training and said in a June interview with artnet.com that for him painting was about “Trying to bring forth what is, I think, the universal truth.”
The top Republican on the House Oversight Committee, Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.),has been trying reach the gallery owner in order to ensure that there are ethics rules in place to block the identities of the buyers from the White House.
“The documents requested from you will inform and are pertinent to our oversight of any attempts to seek improper influence with the Biden Administration by anonymous benefactors, and understanding the process you are purportedly undertaking to shield the Administration from any influence by those procuring Mr. Biden’s art.” Comer wrote in the letter, which was sent on Thursday according to the New York Post.
The White House has dismissed any concerns about the vast amounts of money that are being paid for Hunter’s amateur art.
“We won’t know who they are, so there’s no scenario where they could provide influence,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in July of potential purchasers of Biden’s art.
It’s concerning to say the least.
Hunter Biden has reportedly signaled in the past that he was willing to trying and change American’s foreign policy for the right price. Who knows what he could try to do in the future.
