Now that impeachment is over everyone wants to know what is next.
Republicans are wondering if Donald Trump will run for President again in 2024.
And Fox News made a surprising prediction about Donald Trump’s future.
As Conservative Revival reports:
Donald Trump may very well stage a comeback in 2024.
If Trump decides to run in 2024 the nomination is his and no Republican can beat him in a primary.
But Trump may not run again three years from now.
And that could lead into the most wide open Republican nominating contest ever as there would be no clearly defined favorite in establishment, conservative and MAGA lanes.
“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace believes Mike Pence would start a 2024 campaign in the poll position.
“If Donald Trump decides to run again,” Wallace told fellow Fox News host Sandra Smith, “then somebody like Pence isn’t going to be able to run. He’s not going to run against the former president. But assuming that Donald Trump decides not to run, I don’t know who would be in better shape with the Trump base, despite the fact that they had this falling-out on January 6th, a pretty serious falling-out.”
Wallace claimed Pence is “the utterly loyal vice president” and that Pence was “the person pushing the Trump agenda harder than anybody else.”
Pence and Trump did have a falling out over the January 6 joint session of Congress to certify the Electoral College results.
Trump believed Pence could reject results from states where Republicans objected to the outcome.
Pence cited the Constitution and flatly stated he had no authority to make such a move.
Vice President Pence’s chief of staff Marc Short made an argument similar to Wallace’s in an interview with Breitbart that Pence was best positioned to tout the Trump record and achievement and grow the party.
“Mike’s roots are in the conservative movement,” Short explained. “It’s the foundation for his philosophical and political views. But, President Trump brought in a large number of new voters into the party and into the movement. He’s focused on how do we continue to build upon that.”
If Donald Trump does not run for President Pence will likely start the 2024 race atop the primary polls as a function of name recognition.
Pence tried to rebuild his ties to the establishment by “acting” like the President toward the end of Trump’s term.
It was Pence that thanked the troops that guarded the Capitol for the inauguration, Pence who called Kamala Harris to congratulate them and it was Pence who attended Joe Biden’s swearing in.
But part of winning the support of Trump voters is showing you are a fighter.
And Pence failed that test as Governor of Indiana.
Pence bowed to pressure from corporate America, Big Tech and the homosexual lobby in repealing a law that kept men out of the girls bathroom.
That surrender cost Pence support across the political spectrum as Democrats thought he was a fanatic and conservatives believed Pence to be a coward.
Pence’s career may have ended with a humiliating defeat in the 2016 Gubernatorial Election had Donald Trump not selected him as his running mate.
Burt Pence can’t count on anymore golden parachutes from Donald Trump.
His 2024 fate will rest in his own hands.
