Not anymore.
And Donald Trump took on Fox News and what happened next no one saw coming.

Donald Trump took a shot at Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC over the state of their ratings following him leaving office.
Trump said their ratings were down since he left office and Trump blamed Fox’s ratings dropping since 2020 over the fact that the network rarely mentions his name or covers his truth social platform.
“Wow!!! So while Trump Hating CNN & MSNBC (MSDNC!) RATINGS are both at record lows, numbers that they have never seen before (“they’re toast”), Fox News Ratings are also way down because they never say “Trump” or TRUTH, never talk about the Rigged Presidential Election, and is a Fake Polling Network. Our giant MAGA base, much bigger than anyone knows, does not like watching Fox play their games. Their Ratings will continue to sink. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote.
And it is true that Fox News Channel’s ratings are down from 2020.
During the 2020 election Tucker Carlson drew over 5 million viewers a night and actually attracted a bigger audience than NBA Finals telecasts.
But Fox’s ratings up are 12 percent from 2021 while MSNBC and CNN hemorrhaged viewers.
“Fox News averaged 1.5 million total day viewers, a 12% increase compared to 2021. Despite the news-heavy year, MSNBC averaged 733,000 viewers to shed 19% of its 2021 audience and CNN managed only 586,000 average viewers to lose 27% of last year’s viewership,” Fox News reported.
But Trump is correct that Fox News is cutting back on Trump coverage and changing their editorial slant.
After the midterm election all the Rupert Murdoch owned media properties – Fox News Channel, the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal – turned on Trump and blamed Trump for the Republicans’ poor showing.
The New York Post – which strongly backed Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns – ran a cover mocking Donald Trump as a saboteur who ruined the Republicans electoral prospects.

The Post also ran a story quoting a News Corp source – News Corp is the parent company of Fox News Channel – saying Rupert Murdoch told Trump none of these media outlets would support Trump’s 2024 campaign.
“We have been clear with Donald. There have been conversations between them during which Rupert made it clear to Donald that we cannot back another run for the White House,” a News Corp official told the New York Post.
Early on in the 2016 campaign, Fox News was clearly against Donald Trump.
Fox’s editorial framing of that race made it clear Jeb Bush was Rupert Murdoch’s preferred candidate.
But Trump won the nomination and Murdoch’s media empire fell in line knowing the audience strongly supported Trump.
