Democrats are nervous.
They can feel the political ground shifting beneath their feet.
And Chuck Schumer is hiding one fact that could destroy the Democrats in 2022.
As Conservative Revival reports:
On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced they have filed a joint budget resolution for Fiscal Year 2021, which they say will allow the vaccine to be spread faster to help those in need.
However, this move carries some political and financial back doors.
According to the Senate Democrats’ website,
“Introduction of a joint budget resolution is the first step to potentially enacting a Budget Reconciliation bill, one legislative tool available to Congress to quickly pass bipartisan COVID relief legislation. The Resolution outlines the “reconciliation instructions” for each House and Senate committee, or how much funding can be spent in their jurisdiction. If both the House and Senate pass identical Budget Resolutions (which do not require a Presidential signature), both chambers can begin work on the Reconciliation bill that is signed by the President.”
Thus, Pelosi and Schumer are hoping to circumvent the President in order to get what they want out of a coronavirus relief bill.
Many are framing this new budget resolution as another way to give Congress the financial tools it needs to deliver coronavirus relief.
Shumer and Pelosi stated:
“Congress has a responsibility to quickly deliver immediate comprehensive relief to the American people hurting from COVID-19. The cost of inaction is high and growing, and the time for decisive action is now. With this budget resolution, the Democratic Congress is paving the way for the landmark Biden-Harris coronavirus package that will crush the virus and deliver real relief to families and communities in need. We are hopeful that Republicans will work in a bipartisan manner to support assistance for their communities, but the American people cannot afford any more delays and the Congress must act to prevent more needless suffering.”
However, they are neglecting to mention their role in all this “needless suffering.”
It has never truly just been Congress’s responsibility.
Pelosi and Schumer are responsible for many of the delays to the coronavirus relief bills, citing that they did not provide enough money to the right people and places.
But now they are making it seem as it has been Congress who is solely responsible for the delays.
Financial relief is what the American people need most right now.
Coronavirus has decimated so many jobs and has put so many out of their homes.
Right now, the American people need leaders in all branches of the government who will help them get back on their feet in the midst of this awful pandemic, not ones who will delay relief to satisfy their incredibly specific lists of demands.
